Retail Manager

The Retail manager is responsible for the performance, customer experience, sales and development of all Daily Paper stores and or shop in shops which are managed by Daily Paper staff. The RM will ensure consistent delivery of Daily Paper’s customer service experience through coaching, developing and motivating their teams. The RM sets sales targets and meets business objectives for each store and is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of sales, staff and stock.


Your responsibilities:

Retail strategy

  • Develops and implements the global retail strategy;

  • Makes sure all owned stores are in line with the brands and market global strategy;

  • Sustains business growth, sets store targets and other kpi’s;

  • Does research and advises the board on trends, commercial retail opportunities and or emerging markets;


Sales

  • Meets sales goals on monthly bases, monitors and follow up with store managers to achieve sales targets;

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; develop sales forecasts and sales plans to maximize store profits;

  • Prepares monthly report and analysis; sales, staff performance, foot traffic, best sellers, competitor sales analysis etc.;

  • Pro-active initiates ideas related to marketing needs (In-store communication/Merchandising/store layout/Product Imagery) in collaboration with Marketing;

  • Lead Visual Merchandising guidelines development and deployment

  • Development and optimization of achieving exceptional levels of customer service

  • Collects sales feedback, analysis and summary retail performance

  • Gives feedback to the design team, raise product needs, to optimize the assortment to suit to product mix and or local markets

  • Stays ahead of developments in retail, customer experience and technology


Operations

  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff

  • Manages stock levels and optimizes stock control, weekly shop inventory audits and ensure adequate stock reports

  • Monitor service level through mystery shopping survey, develop and implement action plan

  • Travels between store and knows exactly what is happening within each market;


Job requirements


  • 5-7 years of relevant retail, sales and business development experience
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Good understanding of the Fashion and Luxury industry
  • Strong self-discipline to work independently with a sheer focus on sales results
  • Good knowledge of retail operations
  • Translates the company strategy or a given strategic direction to team
  • Gets the best out of one’s team by actively monitoring and evaluating performance
  • Implements optimal staffing of the team
  • ensures continuous development of own team by establishing a growth environment
  • Experience with international store openings and projects coordination
