Senior Merchandiser

Job description

We are looking for an experienced senior merchandiser who will develop and execute a merchandise strategy to maximize the sales potential and profits of the brand. As the Senior Merchandiser you will work closely with E-Commerce, Design, Sales, Production, Marketing and our own stores.


Your Responsibilities

    • Planning and developing a strategy to enable the company to sell a range of products that delivers sales and profit targets;
    • Assortment Planning and developing the Range Plan, ensuring a customer-focused, commercial and attractive assortment is delivered to the stores;
    • Analyzing sales figures, customer responses and market trends to anticipate product needs;
    • Conduct weekly analysis of stock-to-sales ratio by merchandise category, identifying trending and underperforming lines and best sellers to provide actionable recommendations to Sales/E-Commerce and Production for improving merchandise mix;
    • Participate in weekly open-to-buy meetings to ensure the achievement of financial targets, including turn and sell-through goals;
    • Rank styles based on historical and current product performance, as well as sell through vs. buy;
    • Communicate to appropriate cross-functional partners;
    • Review weekly sales performance numbers to identify potential re-order opportunities and styles that require markdowns;
    • Develop the correct balance between the expectations of the customer and the objectives of the company's financial strategy;
    • Ensure the product that are bought will enable the Sales team to achieve the Sales plan;
    • Shares the collection strategy and details with all relevant departments to ensure execution is aligned with the strategy;
    • Improves the assortment to increase sales;

Job requirements

    • Proven work experience in merchandising for at least 5 years
    • Bachelor degree
    • Must have high fashion intelligence and a broad-based business acumen
    • Must possess the ability to understand and act upon financial retail indicators such as sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through and turn
    • Acute fashion sense with proven ability to envision and interpret fashion trends
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
    • Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills
